Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is a middle for Japanese expressions and culture found west of Delray Beach in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. The recreation center and exhibition hall are named after George Morikami, a local of Miyazu, Japan, who gave his ranch to Palm Beach County to be utilized as a park. George Morikami was the main individual from the Yamato Colony, Florida to remain in Delray Beach after World War II. He initially proposed giving the land to the City of Delray Beach which declined.[4] The Museum was opened in 1977, in a structure that is currently named the Yamato-kan. The foremost gallery building opened in 1993. Development of the Roji-en gardens started in 1993.
